Power tweaks for Raspberry Pi Zero

Since I've moved my nest box and replaced the mains power adapter for a solar panel, I look for ways to reduce the Raspberry Pi power consumption as much as possible.

So far I've found the following tweaks for /boot/config.txt:

#dtparam=audio=on

disable_camera_led=1
dtoverlay=disable-bt
dtparam=act_led_trigger=none
dtparam=act_led_activelow=on

Here I:

  • Disable sound and ALSA daemon
  • Disable the camera indicator LED
  • Disable Bluetooth
  • Disable the on-board indicator LED

Also, I disabled HDMI output by adding /usr/bin/tvservice -o to /etc/rc.local.

Finally, I've found daemon which I don't need:

sudo apt autoremove triggerhappy

A USB tester is on its way, so hopefully soon I'll able to measure the actual current power consumption.
